We stopped here for dinner today, and while they have a pretty good bar, unfortunately, the food was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in the USA. Almost everything we ordered was extremely bland , no salt, no spice, and very little flavor, even though we specifically requested all the dishes to be spicy. We started with the Chicken 65, which was very bland and lacked flavor. Next were the Maharajan Wings. They didn’t seem properly marinated—the outer layer had some flavor, but the meat inside was completely bland. The biggest disappointment was the Chicken Chettinad. There were so many mustard seeds in the dish that it honestly felt like they had a bunch in stock and simply dumped them into our curry. The coconut rice had a similar issue. The only dish we found okay was the Butter Chicken, especially with the bread we ordered. Even then, the naans took a long time to arrive, which made the overall experience more frustrating. On top of everything, the prices felt very high for the portion sizes and quality of the food. The bar and atmosphere may be appealing, but based on our food experience today, it was extremely disappointing.

definitely the best indian restaurant i’ve tried in miami. the staff was so nice from the moment we walked in, everyone greeted us with a huge smile and made us feel so welcome. we’ve tried so many indian restaurants around miami and this one is honestly on another level. we got the mango chicken curry and it was sooo good. we also ordered an off-menu pistachio chicken curry because i love pistachios, and omg… i need that on the menu permanently. such a good combination. the truffle cheese naan was amazing too, super cheesy with just the right amount of truffle. we also got a giant dosa, which i’d never tried before, and it was delicious. if you’re sensitive to spicy food like me, get the mango lassi. i literally cry every time i eat spicy food and water never helps, but one sip of the mango lassi and the burning was basically gone. i was actually shocked lol. for dessert we had the pistachio cheesecake with pistachio ice cream and omg… soooo good. we left super happy. they add an 18% gratuity like a lot of restaurants in miami, and honestly they deserved it. everything was delicious and our server, Shishir, was the sweetest. can’t wait to come back :)

Our experience was outstanding and delicious at this restaurant. First time we came to have lunch at this exquisite place. Oh my! We hit a home run! My husband had chicken, curry cashew and I have pistachio chicken curry and each plate was delicious with multiple explosions of flavors. We also had a pistachio Katafi cheesecake with pistachio bomb, which was one bowl of ice cream covered with natural pistachio shaving. This place has definitely far exceeded our expectations. From the welcoming moment to bringing our dish to our table and then bringing our desserts. We felt like royalty at this place. This place is very family friendly as well, clean, and very attentive at the table. We were asked if everything was OK about 10 times through our stay. The price was also reasonable for all the meals, including desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely come back for more. We also wanted to thank Rahul Who personally took very good care of us upon our visit today. We definitely could not have asked for more! DG

My husband and I just tried this place for the first time and had an amazing experience! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food was absolutely delicious! The papri chaat was easily my favorite & the garlic naan was perfectly thin and crispy just the way I like it. We will definitely be back! (We also had mango lassi & pistachio bomb)

We did not have a great experience at Ashoka Indian Restaurant. The service was very slow from start to finish. It took a long time for someone to take our order, the food took quite a while to arrive, and even basic things like cutlery and the bill had to be requested multiple times. The food itself was disappointing. We ordered samosa chaat, but it barely had any samosa in it — just one very small samosa. The masala dosa had a strange oil smell and definitely did not taste like it was prepared in good quality oil or ghee. We also ordered the paneer kurchan with vegetable balls curry and garlic naan. Thankfully, we chose vegetable balls with paneer khurchan otherwise, that dish also would not have tasted good. It was at least somewhat edible and flavorful, although it had an excessive amount of artificial color. Overall, the food did not feel authentic or fresh, and we were honestly surprised by the high ratings. In our opinion, this place may appeal more to people unfamiliar with Indian food, but as Indians, we did not enjoy the taste or quality at all.
